We have an exciting opportunity for an NQ or Assistant Lawyer to join an expert Crime and Regulatory department, and work alongside a highly experienced partner on criminal regulatory and inquest work, including matters relating to health and safety, environment, motor, food, fire and product safety.This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer to learn from an experienced team, build client relationships in the corporate world, and provide first class legal solutions to complex technical problems.Primary responsibilities include:
  • Review and analysis of prosecution evidence
  • Drafting statements of clients / witnesses
  • Review of clients evidence
  • Liaising with Court, Coroner's Office, clients and CQC/Police/HSE or relevant regulator
  • Liaising with experts - instructing own experts, summarising expert evidence, serving reports
  • Serving Defence case statements
  • Drafting written submissions
  • Reviewing and producing transcripts of evidence
  • Organising and attending meetings, conferences, interviews trials etc.
The successful candidate will have rights of audience in the Magistrates' and Coroner's Court.
