Management Accountant (PQ or Qual) | Crawley | Immediate Start | £45K to £50K

As part of their constant evolution, we're looking for a contentious, resilient, and agile Management Accountant to take charge of the monthly management accounts and associated commentary.

In this integral role you'll be reporting to the Financial Controller, you gain broad exposure to the inner workings at an ever-evolving accounts function at a VC backed, rapidly growing, advanced tech focused business. Your core duties including but not being limited to:

  • Produce Management Accounts including commentary, balance sheet reviews, and variance analysis digging into performance vs budget.
  • Provide insights into the business's financial health, including trends in revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Day to day ownership of all accounts including bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
  • Management of Procurement process/P2P and AP function. (with support of the Accounts Assistant)
  • Support and cover for all grant reporting and funding applications.
  • Continuously look for efficiencies and ways to ensure good value for money.
  • Support in the year end audit and corporation tax compliance; collaborate with external auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporation tax returns.
  • Create and maintain a 5-year forecast model. (with support of FC)
  • Maintain cash flow forecasting.
  • Manage payroll (input only and with support of Accounts Assistant), VAT, payroll tax compliance.
  • Deputise the Finance Controller.

The ideal candidate will be up for the challenge of working in a developing / changing finance department, with a keen eye for process improvement, and be an advocate for best practice.

Person Specification

  • Be available immediately or with a short notice period.
  • Part or newly / fully qualified ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment where change is a constant.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Proactive, self-starter with a can-do mindset.
