Assistant Accountant - Transport
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-qualified Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic, Grimsby based supply chain management business to support their transport operations. This role offers fantastic exposure to month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career in a commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in month-end accounts, including journal postings, accruals, and prepayments.
- Support the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process.
- Prepare and maintain weekly KPI reports, tracking transport costs at a vehicle level.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends and cost drivers.
- Work closely with the transport operations team to understand performance.
- Monitor and track vehicle running costs, highlighting areas for efficiency.
- Assist in developing processes and systems to improve financial reporting.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong Excel skills - ability to build financial models and reports.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence to engage with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with the confidence to seek support when needed.
