Perhaps you have 4-5 years of experience in Project Management and a Mechanical Engineering degree, and you're looking for the next step in your career? If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our growing team at Rendesco. Your first project will be to support the delivery of a groundbreaking, sustainable development—a pioneering low-carbon heating and cooling network project. After completion of this project (12-18 months), we have further exciting projects that you will have the opportunity to manage.
The first project:
This exciting project involves the creation of a state-of-the-art, low-carbon heating and cooling network for a large, forward-thinking residential and commercial development. The project will incorporate innovative, renewable energy solutions, including water-source heat pumps, to provide sustainable heating and cooling for hundreds of homes and commercial spaces. The aim is to deliver significant reductions in CO2 emissions, contributing to a cleaner, greener future for both residents and businesses.
Key project features:

  • Low-carbon  heating and cooling using cutting-edge technology
  • Servicing  a community of residential homes and commercial spaces
  • Providing  energy-efficient solutions that deliver 90% less CO2 emissions than traditional gas boilers and 50% less CO2 emissions than air-source heat pumps
  • Expected  annual energy savings of up to ÂŁ160 per home for a typical three-bedroom house
  • Aiming  to set new standards in energy efficiency and sustainability in the UK

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Mechanical  Engineering Degree (or related field)
  • 4-5  years of experience in a mechanical, civil, or MEP engineering role, ready  for the next step in their career
  • Experience  working on MEP projects or civil infrastructure projects, preferably with  experience in sustainable or renewable energy
  • Strong  leadership and the ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively  across disciplines
  • Experience  in pipefitting, hydraulic systems, or similar technical roles (ideal, but not essential)
  • A  candidate from a forces background would be advantageous
  • A  methodical, detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team management

What’s The Role?
As a Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of this transformational project, overseeing and supervising the on-site delivery of the heat network infrastructure, including:

  • Civil works
  • Pipelaying  (800mm to 40mm)
  • Plantroom  structures
  • Mechanical  & electrical installations
  • Heat Interface Unit (HIU) installations

This is a hands-on, supervisory role that requires attention to detail, coordination, and an ability to solve complex technical problems on-site. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery while collaborating with sub-contractors, managing health & safety, and handling key project reporting. You will be based on-site, full-time, and have the opportunity to lead impactful work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Manage materials, equipment, and subcontractor teams on-site.
  • Quality Control: Oversee inspections and ensure all work meets industry and  Rendesco standards.
  • MEP Integration: Supervise and integrate MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical,      Plumbing), including heat pumps, pipework, and residential connections.
  • Engineering Excellence: Provide technical oversight to ensure efficient and  high-quality installation solutions.
  • Commissioning: Work closely with commissioning engineers to ensure a seamless handover of systems and infrastructure.

Job benefits

  • Up  to ÂŁ60,000 basic salary (dependant on experience)
  • Private  medical insurance (after probation)
  • EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme
  • ÂŁ30  monthly phone contribution
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
  • Discretionary  performance-related bonus
