We are looking for an experienced General Manager to manage two five star exclusive properties on the outskirts of Cartmel in the South Lakes. You must have at least five years experience in running similar venues.

Cark Manor, carkmanor.com, is a 12 bedroom Manor house, only available on an exclusive basis, so you will be well versed with accommodating a demanding and sometimes eccentric clientele. Ideally, but not necessarily, you will be the quintessential English Gentleman in all aspects of the role and have a good understanding of food, wine and the finer things in life in general.

Aynsome Manor, aynsomemanor.com, built in 1834 has been recently renovated to its former glory and has 12 bedrooms, as well as two, two bedroom cottages. Each room has been exquisitely designed with their own individual style. It has recently reopened as a high end Bed & Breakfast, appealing to the more disarming of guests. We are a dog friendly hotel and allow dogs to reside with their owners on one level of the property.

You will be responsible for the onsite team but will need to have a hands-on approach to ensure the efficient day to day running, which may also involve changing beds and cleaning bathrooms.

Other duties (but not limited to): -

taking bookings and managing our online presence on various booking websites

total responsibility for all events, including the scheduling and overseeing of the events themselves.

ensuring the upkeep of both properties by working closely with the gardeners and maintenance team, as well as managing outside contractors

ordering all supplies required for the Manors including food and beverage
