One of our Hemel Hempstead based Clients who require a Group Accountant to become a key part of their Group Finance team, responsible for financial reporting and compliance across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- The Group Accountant will be Responsible for maintaining the financial accuracy and control over revenue reporting, assisting with the preparation of two year-end statutory group accounts. Completing monthly balance sheets reconciliations for accounts relevant to your role, whilst performing monthly posting to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
- Supporting and liaising with external auditors as required, maintaining a strong internal control environment, including compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and company policies.
- Reconciliation of sales revenue from revenue systems (Seaware) and the correct posting to the general ledger, investigating and resolving any differences.
- You'll mentor junior team members and contribute to their development as well as having an input on team structure and responsibilities, processes and improvements.
- Assisting with Corporate Tax computations and submissions, understanding quarterly VAT preparation as well as performing quarterly VAT reconciliation workings to be used in the VAT calculation.
Additional Projects
- Lead or contribute to finance transformation projects such as systems implementation or process simplification improvements. Support financial initiatives with robust financial insight, review of existing processes with recommendations for improvement and efficiencies.
- You'll lead or support finance transformation projects, providing financial insights to ensure informed business decisions.
Skills/Requirements
- The ideal candidate should possess a professional qualification such as ACCA, or ACA, along with minimum 1 year post experience in a group accounting role within a large business, preferably in a senior capacity.
- A detailed knowledge and understanding of accounting of revenue and deferred income.
- You need to have a strong background in planning, reporting, and financial analysis, paired with advanced Excel skills that include data analysis and financial modelling.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as ERPX, is essential, and you should have a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.
- You should be self-motivated, proactive, and confident, with an accurate and detail-oriented approach that allows you to identify and implement process improvements effectively.
- Additionally, strong stakeholder management skills are necessary for engaging with other finance teams in the Group and supporting office teams in building effective relationships.
Salary up to £60k + Annual Bonus
