We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 2 Class Teacher to join our vibrant and welcoming school in Hemel Hempstead from Easter 2025. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic and personal development of our Year 2 students.
As a Year 2 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that support the transition of students into Key Stage 2, while fostering a love of learning. You will play a key role in developing students' literacy and numeracy skills, preparing them for their next stage of education and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that are engaging, creative, and tailored to the needs of Year 2 students.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where children can thrive and develop their independence.
Assess and track the progress of students, providing timely and constructive feedback to both children and parents.
Support childrens social, emotional, and academic development, promoting key skills such as communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, working together to ensure every childs success.
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Maintain accurate records of childrens progress and achievements in line with school policies.
Participate in staff meetings, parent consultations, and school-wide events.
Engage in continuous professional development to further enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
A valid teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
Proven experience in teaching within a primary school setting, ideally in Key Stage 1.
A deep understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and the developmental needs of children in this age group.
A passion for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to manage a classroom effectively and encourage positive behaviour.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Experience in supporting children with additional needs (SEN).
Knowledge of current initiatives in primary education.
Paid to Scale based on experience.
