Our client, a leading Electronics Manufacturer have an exciting opportunity for someone to join their team based in Hook.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for leading your own team, overseeing all aspects of people, procedures, and processes. You will be tasked with motivating and engaging your team to meet business objectives, while fostering a positive and respectful environment by setting a strong example.

As the Test and Commissioning Manager, you will drive the implementation of manufacturing improvements, working closely with departments that directly impact key areas, and consistently striving for excellence and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clear and constant communication with managers, staff, and other departments to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Oversee monthly work planning, aligning with customer promised dates to improve lead time accuracy for sales orders.
  • Ensure that all team members are up-to-date on company products and relevant topics.
  • Uphold processes and procedures within your area of responsibility.
  • Actively promote the reporting of non-conformance and near-misses, taking ownership of root cause analysis when applicable.
  • Support and empower individuals to develop and reach their potential.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining control over the area.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance team efficiency.
  • Oversee the daily activities of the team.
  • Promote and enforce the highest standards of Health and Safety, alongside manufacturing best practices.
  • Conduct appraisals for all permanent team members, providing constructive feedback.
  • Address performance issues quickly, directly, and constructively.
  • Clearly communicate key messages to the team, including objectives, plans, and roles.
  • Foster and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven management experience with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to engage key stakeholders across departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capacity to work well under pressure with a proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • A change agent, able to challenge and drive process improvements.
  • Proficient in conflict management and business negotiation processes

Remuneration package includes:

  • Basic salary up to £43,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • 25 days holiday per year, + 8 bank holidays.
  • Non contractual bonus - normally 4 weeks pay
  • Working hours are a 38 hr per week. Finish at 3pm on Friday's
  • £75 Well Being Voucher per year

  • Our pension: staff contribute 5% and company contribute 3%.
