Family Solicitor – Exciting Opportunity in Yorkshire
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented and driven Family Solicitor. You will join a growing and dynamic legal practice in a role that offers flexibility, career progression and a supportive team environment.
This L500 law firm is seeking a skilled Family Solicitor to undertake fee-earning work, offering hybrid working opportunities and the chance to be part of a close-knit, expanding team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload, including divorce, private children matters, non-molestation orders and financial relief cases
- Handle cases independently under supervision and take on existing cases partway through
- Attend court for directions hearings, first appointments and financial dispute resolution hearings
- Take client instructions, draft legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including the Solicitors Act and legal aid rules
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, including conducting file reviews
About You – Skills & Experience:
- Strong legal knowledge and excellent client care skills
- Proficiency in billing for services and understanding of legal aid eligibility and rules
- Experience handling private children matters, domestic abuse cases, divorce and financial disputes – knowledge of TOLATA is advantageous
- Skilled in drafting legal documents
- Self-motivated with the ability to generate new work
- Ability to supervise team members and conduct file supervisions
- Qualified to act as a supervisor for Legal Aid purposes
