Based in HU3 Area of Hull

Driving Licence required for Van Distribution

Job purpose:

To manage goods in and the physical inventory within the Hull warehouse and ensure that Physical Inventory matches DSS records.

All items within the Hull warehouse must -

  • Check all deliveries made to the warehouse, ensure all delivery notes are signed once orders are checked
  • Physical inventory matches DSS inventory.
  • Accurate bin locations are assigned to all items and correspond in real time with DSS.
  • Individual items can be clearly identified with labels and DSS identification (Picklist note etc)
  • Maintain stock accuracy by constant stock counts and product inspection.

Reduce shrinkage and loss including -

  • Mis-picks
  • Out of date items
  • FIFO and rotation
  • Theft
  • Purchase returns/sales order returns
  • Stock management

Key responsibilities and accountability's:

  • Checking and identifying inwards goods (stock orders), checking dates, quality, quantity, sign delivery notes after checking. All quires should be immediately raised with procurement before accepting goods
  • Ensure items are put into correct bin location, locations are correctly marked physically and bin location in DSS
  • Label items with difficult descriptions; insure items are easily/correctly identifiable.
  • Highlight to the company purchaser low stock levels on inventory.
  • Identify and advise on all current and future stock items.
  • Assist in maintenance of DSS to ensure that data is correct, up to date and accurate. Investigate discrepancies and report to the company purchaser and warehouse supervisor for any suggested stock adjustments and movements
  • Monitor the movement of inventory including items held in OP. OP must be cleared weekly.
  • Oversee pickers to ensure that the correct items are picked and correct picking procedures followed.
  • Manage all returns through SRO to PRO system and items are returned to vendors and credits received.
  • Conduct weekly stock takes ensuring - Inventory correct, rotation, stored correctly, bin locations, deterioration, labelled / marked. Key items to be checked weekly list as per Finance manager.
  • Short dated items must be reported to the company purchaser as soon as identified
  • Sales return- Physically capture items, ensure Goods return Form is completed. Goods isolated in warehouse, GRF passed to relevant SO to investigate. Follow relevant WI.
  • Oversee Purchase return orders and supervise. PRO must be signed off by suppliers and passed to accounts. Follow relevant WIs
  • Out of date stock must be isolated and identified, reported every Friday to the company purchaser.
  • Provide assistance in product advice to sales staff and customers
  • Provide cover as required.
  • To act in accordance with Health & Safety, Environmental Health, company policies and other legislation requirements.
