This is a seriously weighty Principal Blockchain position (1 of 2) with a supremely well-funded AI start-up based in Zurich. UK home-based with fully expensed (hotel, flights etc) monthly visits to Zurich office.
The Principal Blockchain Expert role will see you 'in at the start’ working closely with equally senior FE, ML, AI, Data, BE, UI/UX specialists. Plans are in place to scale the business ambitiously from Q2. The framework is complete, and now they need to build the MVP.
It’s a supremely fascinating product and challenge.
You will need substantial commercial experience (5+ years) as a go-to senior Blockchain expert in a technology-led company together with demonstrably strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication. You’ll already be on a high salary.

A flavour of the role:
- Implement and manage blockchain technology for provenance tracking and sustainability verification
- Develop and maintain smart contracts to automate and secure transactions
- Ensure seamless integration of blockchain solutions into the existing platform infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align blockchain initiatives with business objectives
- Conduct research on emerging blockchain technologies and evaluate their potential application within the company
- Optimize blockchain systems for performance, scalability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve blockchain-related issues
- Document blockchain processes, architecture, and smart contracts for future reference
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on blockchain best practices to the development team
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes related to blockchain technology
Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Blockchain Technology, or a related field; Masters/PhD a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a 'go-to’ Blockchain expert or similar role within a technology-driven company
- Proven experience with blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Hyperledger, Solidity, and smart contracts
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C++
- Ability to solve complex technical problems related to blockchain implementation and integration
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong understanding of data security and privacy principles
- Familiarity with decentralized applications (DApps) and blockchain development frameworks is a plus
