My client, a Payments Firm, are seeking a Finance Manager to play a crucial role in the accounting operations of our European business. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing taxation obligations. The Finance Manager will also oversee the preparation of financial reports and engage regularly with both internal and external stakeholders.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements and reports, manage tax audits, and file all tax returns including Corporation Tax, payroll taxes, and VAT for all entities.
  • Develop and streamline procedures and worksheets for the calculation of tax provisions.
  • Assess and research tax issues to identify solutions.
  • Create and review annual budgets, manage budgetary control by monitoring budgets and managing variances.
  • Manage invoice authorization and payment processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Conduct bank reconciliation on all accounts twice a month to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Manage the monthly Management Account preparations and variance reporting, including the preparation of schedules, processing of P&L and Balance Sheets, and preparation of variance reports.
  • Participate in and support internal audits as required.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in Europe and Tokyo Headquarters.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, development, and supervision of accounting staff as required.
  • Travel as required to meet business objectives.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management to meet business needs.
  • Comply with all internal regulations and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial management; Payment Card Industry experience is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in team supervision or management.
  • Experience in Multi-currency transactions and cross-border reconciliation required.
  • Experience in leading audits, taxation, and statutory accounting is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and successful completion of a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA) required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with solid problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
