Group Accounting Manager

This role will suit an ACA qualified accountant, from a practice background (Ideally Big 4), who is currently in a group reporting type role.

This is a great opportunity for a driven finance professional to take ownership of a key leadership role within a high performing and dynamic team, influencing financial strategy and operational efficiency at a group level, such as reporting, audits, tax and accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end financial reporting schedules.
  • Consolidate and review financial statements for all entities within the group.
  • Maintain and enhance the finance system to meet business requirements.
  • Oversee stock valuation processes across the organization.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and drive best practices within the finance team.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
  • Lead the execution of external audits and regulatory financial assessments.
  • Monitor and forecast group cash flow and liquidity.
  • Oversee financial management and reporting for holding entities.
  • Partner with various departments, including Finance, Senior Leadership, HR, Merchandising, and Design, to provide financial insights and analysis.
  • Manage currency-related financial planning and reporting.
  • Administer corporate insurance policies and claims processes.
  • Handle company secretarial responsibilities and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain and oversee master financial data records.
  • Coordinate with external partners for international financial reporting and compliance.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory reports and regulatory filings.
  • Lead tax strategy, compliance, and planning across the organisation.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to financial and tax accounting professionals.

Skills & Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA preferred).
  • Background in retail or wholesale industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in multi-currency consolidation is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory financial reporting.
  • Tax expertise within a multinational environment (preferred).
  • Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of accountability and leadership.
