I’m currently working exclusively with a unique Payment firm to support the hire for a Head of Finance. As a Industry leader the business is thriving and seeing steady growth as they support 1000s of smaller businesses. Due to this growth, they are looking for a Head of Finance to support and develop to finance function.

As a Head of Finance, you will be leading process improvement and the efficiency of the finance function as they scale. Within the role you will work closely with the C-Suite the support the execution of the company strategy.

  • Building and developing the internal finance team, managing 1 direct report.
  • Responsible for operational processes, including monthly payroll, management reporting, cash reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Coordinate all the monthly and quarterly FCA reporting.
  • Oversee treasury management, including cash flow forecasting.
  • Ownership of the annual audit, ensuring timely execution, accurate reporting with minimal error and within budget.
  • Control the annual R&D Tax Credit submission, partner with the tech team to draft the technical report and compile the financial data.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the wider business to represent the needs for the finance function.
  • Work with external suppliers including office landlords, insurance, corporate lawyers, company secretary.
  • Report daily disbursement & drawdown finance processes, ensuring funds are sent to clients within deadlines.
  • Manage the staff ESOP program, including administering agreements, filing returns, and handling subscription payments.
  • Take ownership of month-end reporting process, compiling month-end reports and senior management KPI packs.
  • Own the commissions process and liaise with brokers when queries arise.

Candidate Profile:

  • ACA Qualified with post qualified experience within scaling business.
  • Strong report and accounting knowledge.
  • Previous experience working with Non-Finance Stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Xero accounting system and BI applications.
  • A confident communicator with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills with propensity to take the initiative.
