A specialist ASD provision within a primary school in Kennington, near Brixton, is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for working with children on the Autism spectrum. Psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in SEN are also encouraged to apply.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Role Overview:
Support children with Autism and complex needs in a structured ASD unit.
Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans.
Assist children in developing social, communication, and self-regulation skills.
Provide emotional and behavioural support where needed.
Adapt activities and lessons to meet the needs of each child.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Ideal Candidate:
Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a care/support role with Autism.
A Psychology graduate or someone passionate about child development.
Familiarity with sensory-based interventions and visual communication strategies.
A patient and understanding approach with a proactive attitude.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply via Reeson Education.
