Senior Project Manager - 1 day a week in London - 1 year FTC - Up to 65,000

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high risk projects including the build of an MVP platform which will bring together all of this company's products and services within the musical industry! Working within a large organisation, your work will be showcased nationally. This is a pivotal role which will help determine the company's success and you will get to make an impact from day 1!

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on the building of an MVP platform. Taking the lead on this particular platform, you will also define, plan, manage and deliver the business' larger and more complex long-term projects that will significantly affect the company and help them achieve their long-term strategic objectives and benefits. You will act as a champion for the concepts, procedures and application of Project Management and their delivery framework across the organisation. In addition to this, you will mentor and line manage other Project Managers or team members across the organisation. As well as driving the build of this particular project, you will also help transform the delivery of the business and the way that they deliver agile projects. Currently, the business operates a waterfall methodology - and they want to introduce more agile ways of working and have someone who is ideally skilled in this area that can act as the champion for this across the team as well as run scrums and workshops to educate others. You will play an integral and Senior role in understanding how the business can improve their project management practices by reviewing feedback and usage.

Requirements:

  • Coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean Practices - act as a recognised expert
  • Take responsibility for complex relationships with contracted suppliers
  • Identify appropriate contractual frameworks and identify appropriate suppliers and negotiate with them
  • You will have the ability to communicate between the technical and non-technical - mediate between people and mend relationships, communicate with stakeholders at all levels and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Speak on behalf of and represent the community to large audiences both inside and outside of government
  • You will have a strong awareness of financial management and have the ability to negotiate, influence and set budgets as well as write or input into business cases
  • You will have a strong knowledge of the product life cycle and will be able to apply experience in multiple parts of the cycle - recognising when it is right to move forward/stop
  • Plan and engage with the appropriate stakeholders at a particular stage in the project
  • Optimise the delivery flow of teams - address risks etc.
  • Guide teams through the implementation of a new process
  • Lead a continual planning process, plan beyond product delivery
