LTS are currently looking for a committed and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start immediately in one of our client schools in Southgate, North London.

You will be supporting primary aged pupils, from 5-11 years old, who have Autism and other Special Educational Needs, including:

  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Specific learning difficulties
  • Behavioural difficulties

You will be working in a Special Educational Needs unit supporting 6 students with both their learning and their personal, social, and mental health needs.

The role is full time, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am until 4pm.

You will be paid daily, between £100 and £115 a day, on a weekly basis and you will be expected to follow the local school term dates, ideally avoiding taking holiday in term time to enable you to build good relationships with the pupils you support.

This role is not without its challenges; however, it is very rewarding, and you will be fully supported by a highly skilled, friendly staff team who will equip you with the resources and knowledge you need to help the pupils to progress.

­­­­­­­­The ideal candidate would be expected to:

  • Lead and deliver to a small group of 6 children alongside another Teaching Assistant
  • Use individualised strategies to support the students to access the curriculum
  • Encourage student participation and performance
  • Help with the the children’s books at the end of the day e.g. marking work, sticking in sheets and writing progress and feedback for home
  • Promote and enable students personal, social, emotional and mental health development
  • Supervise students during non-classroom time

Experience as a Teaching Assistant and supporting those with Special Educational Needs is essential for this role.
