The role
This is a Contract role and has been deemed inside IR35
Duration:  12 Months
Westlakes | 1 day work from home

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Respond to technical queries, requests for information, and resolve non-conformances.
  • Produce and verify structural calculations and details for site modifications, in coordination with the permanent works team.
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Review contractor method statements, risk assessments, and inspection plans.
  • Assess and review temporary works designs.
  • Collaborate directly with the construction team to understand requirements, address issues, and prioritise work, ensuring alignment with design specifications and project scope.

You will have the following qualifications and experience 

  • Degree or HNC qualified, Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) with post-Chartership experience.
  • Proactive, self-motivated professional with strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Proficient in STAAD software.
  • Experience producing calculations using Excel.
  • IOSH Working/Managing Safely or equivalent certification.

Design Tools/Software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (latest editions).
  • Experience with STAAD software for structural analysis.

The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
