My client a leading provider of innovative fuel storage solutions, manufacturing high-quality products and delivering bespoke projects across the fuel, manufacturing, and building industries is seeking a meticulous and experienced Sales Estimator to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, fuel, or construction sectors and will be responsible for compiling detailed cost estimates for products, large and small-scale projects, and bespoke solutions tailored to customer requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for manufacturing products and bespoke customer projects.
  • Collaborate with the sales, design, and production teams to ensure estimates reflect technical specifications and feasibility.
  • Analyse customer requirements, drawings, and project scopes to develop tailored proposals.
  • Identify material, labour, and overhead costs to determine competitive and realistic pricing.
  • Provide input on pricing strategies to maximise profitability while maintaining value for customers.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to obtain accurate costings for materials and services.
  • Support the sales team in preparing and delivering quotations, proposals, and tender documents.
  • Monitor market trends and material price fluctuations to ensure estimates remain competitive.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, customer interactions, and project details.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Sales Estimator, preferably in the manufacturing, fuel, or building industries.
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation principles and methods.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Office and estimation tools.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
