Finance Director

North East England Based, hybrid working, £100K - £120K salary (dependent upon experience), plus bonus and excellent corporate benefits

Our client is a leading Investor with a global portfolio of assets. They now seek an experienced Finance Director (or equivalent) with a commercial flair to assist them with the management of a portfolio of investments and providing financial leadership to the organisation.

Reporting into the CEO, the main responsibilities are:

  • Act as the Financial lead for the board, identifying and reporting on all commercial issues to the board, shareholders and key stakeholders.
  • Lead on the strategic risk management for the organisation, ensuring strategic plans are aligned with financial and commercial objectives.
  • Lead financial meetings with key stakeholders, preparing monthly reporting and presenting findings to a wide range of interested parties.
  • Lead the commercial financial modelling provision, developing financial models to determine the best commercial outcomes and support strategic decision making.
  • Review the financial arrangements, determining opportunities for refinancing or alternative financial options, developing the relevant business cases and managing through to conclusion.
  • Ensure controls and processes are in place and operating effectively to protect the financial interests of the organisation. This includes maximizing value, ensuring commercial obligations are met, identifying and managing risks, establishing priorities and allocating appropriate resources.
  • Monitor key sub-contracts and the relationship with sub-contractors, reporting on performance to the board, identifying commercial risk and proposing mitigation as necessary.
  • Monitor and review supply chain performance, driving innovation and managing risk.
  • Lead the preparation, drafting and revision of all commercial documentation, contracts and agreements.
  • Be a strong team player able to manage and motivate people and communicate effectively both a Board level and at Team level.

Successful applicants will have a strong financial skill-set, proven experience at board level and a commercial mind set. You will have an accountancy background (private practice or in-house in a commercial field) and have worked within a commercial finance, investment field or related discipline.
