We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 utilities contractor delivering two major pipe-laying projects in Reading and Oxford on behalf of Thames Water. This is a hybrid role, offering a 3/2 split between site and home working, alongside a competitive salary and benefits package.

About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a key member of the commercial team, you will take responsibility for the financial management of two water infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams and Thames Water, you will oversee cost control, contract management, and procurement, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and within budget. The role provides a blend of site-based and remote working, offering flexibility and professional growth.

Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of pipe-laying projects in Reading and Oxford.
  • Oversee cost reporting, valuations, and budget tracking.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement and contract management.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide financial forecasts and manage cost variations.
  • Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and Thames Water representatives.

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Proven experience in the utilities sector, ideally within water or pipeline projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple commercial processes efficiently.
  • Strong IT skills, including cost management software and Excel.
