SF Group are excited to be working with a manufacturing business based in Redditch on their search for a Financial Controller.
Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Redditch
As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the business. You will lead a small finance team and be responsible for providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This is a hands-on role that will require a proactive approach to managing both the day-to-day accounting functions and long-term financial planning, with a focus on ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and compliance with statutory requirements
- Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with SOX regulations, ensuring robust internal controls and reporting processes
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost control initiatives
- Lead and mentor a finance team, ensuring development and efficiency
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party stakeholders
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
The Successful Applicant:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, SOX compliance, budgeting, and forecasting
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to provide strategic financial insights
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
