Responsibilities:

  • Promote good customer and staff relations, ensuring a positive dining experience for all.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation to exceed customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management skills while executing responsibilities to the highest standard.
  • Take charge of the canteen in the absence of the Catering Manager, overseeing duties such as food ordering, menu development, budgeting, and training.
  • Collaborate with the Catering Manager to ensure a well-stocked canteen that caters to diverse dietary requirements.
  • Stay updated with culinary trends and seasonal ingredients, utilising fresh produce to create delicious and innovative dishes.
  • Support the delivery of internal and external catering events, including setup, stewarding, and breakdown.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

  • Prior experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and the capacity to work harmoniously with colleagues.
  • Basic IT skills to assist with administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, and Allergen Awareness.
  • Motivated, committed, and enthusiastic with the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Flexible attitude towards business requirements and responsibilities.
  • Possession of an up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undergo training.
