About the Role:  


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior quantity surveyor to join a well-established regional construction company in their South Coast office. The role will see you manage costs related to a range of  building projects across the commercial, education, leisure, healthcare, defence and logistic sectors. You will also ensure smooth financial and operational outcomes, providing long-term growth and excellent career prospects. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Cost Control and Management: Oversee project budgets from start to finish, ensuring alignment with forecasts. 

  • Contract Negotiation: Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and pricing for maximum profitability. 

  • Financial Reporting: Provide detailed cost reports to ensure transparency and support project delivery. 

  • Project Monitoring: Track project progress, resolving financial discrepancies to keep projects within budget. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders for successful project execution. 

  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks, offering proactive solutions to mitigate them. 

  • Tender Preparation: assist in preparing and managing tender documentation throughout the construction lifecycle. 

  • Client Interaction: Attend client meetings and communicate cost implications for various construction methods. 

  • Claims Management: Please note, this role will not involve dealing with claims. 

Key Requirements: 

  • Experience: Proven track record as a senior quantity surveyor, ideally within residential or construction sectors. 

  • Education: HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. 

  • Skills: strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation and communication abilities. 

  • Driving License: Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required. 

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a project team, supporting successful delivery from concept to completion
