Role Overview:
The college is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Manager to oversee the Additional Learning Support (ALS) provision. This important role involves managing support services to ensure a high-quality, efficient, and legally compliant learning environment that enables student success. The post holder will lead a team of Learning Support Assistants and work collaboratively with staff to implement effective support strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of Additional Learning Support across the college.
- Oversee the deployment of resources and staffing to meet learners' support needs.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with ESFA funding and Ofsted requirements.
- Conduct audits and observations of support services to ensure quality.
- Lead the recruitment, induction, and performance management of Learning Support Assistants, including BSL signers.
- Liaise with curriculum teams to advise on support strategies and resources.
- Collaborate with the exams team to implement access arrangements.
- Monitor and analyse data to enhance the effectiveness of support provision.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field.
- Experience managing additional learning support in a post-16 educational setting.
- Strong understanding of current curriculum developments and ALS funding.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and ICT skills.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
Desirable:
- Level 7 Postgraduate Award of Proficiency in Assessment for Access Arrangements (or equivalent).
