Job Opportunity: Litigation Handler (Motor Claims)

Location: Tamworth/Hybrid

Salary: up to £40K

We are currently seeking several highly skilled and experienced Litigation Handlers or Solicitors to join a dynamic legal team. You will be responsible for defending litigated motor claims on behalf of large corporate clients, from the initial claim through to trial. This role will involve handling a variety of complex claims, including those related to personal injury, property damage, credit hire, LVI (Low Velocity Impact), and fraud.  You will benefit from working within an environment, where there are no billing hours/chargeable time recording required, you're performance will simply be measured against your outcomes and settlements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defend litigated motor claims on behalf of corporate clients from the point of issue to trial.
  • Assess liability and set and maintain reserves in line with client SLAs and KPIs.
  • Investigate the merits of third-party claims and determine appropriate responses.
  • Conduct negotiations with third parties, including insurers and solicitors, to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Value both general and special damages accurately.
  • Apply the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant legal authorities to secure optimal client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with and support the wider litigation team to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Act as a technical and procedural referral point for other members of the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrable litigation experience.
  • Legal qualification (Solicitor or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently within a structured environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and managers.
