We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor/Study Supervisor to join our team, providing essential support in the classroom during teacher absences. This role is crucial in maintaining a productive learning environment and ensuring that pupils remain engaged with pre-prepared exercises. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and skilled in managing classroom dynamics.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Oversee the classroom, ensuring a safe, tidy, and harmonious environment for pupils.
  • Motivate and guide pupils to stay on task with pre-set exercises provided by the absent teacher.
  • Distribute materials and tools necessary for completing tasks.
  • Assist pupils in understanding and following pre-prepared material in line with school policy.
  • Work across different curriculum areas and subjects as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the absent teacher, forwarding completed exercises and providing updates on classroom activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with children and teenagers.
  • Some knowledge or training in child development and learning.
  • A proactive and supportive approach to managing classroom behaviour.
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant is desirable but not essential.
  • A clean criminal record and a DBS certificate.
  • Qualifications such as Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools or Level 3 Certificate in Cover Supervision of Pupils in Schools are advantageous.
