Clearfield Recruitment have partnered with a leading construction and fit-out company based inEssex, known for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors.

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial aspects of construction projects. Youwill be responsible for ensuring projects are completed within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive package.

Key responsibilities of this position include;

  • Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets for construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Valuations and Payments: Prepare interim valuations, process payments, and manage final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Contract Administration: Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
  • Tender Analysis: Review and analyze tender documents, making recommendations for awarding contracts.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks, implementing strategies to mitigate financial impact.
  • Cost Reporting: Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting to senior management, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Value Engineering: Work with project teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering without compromising quality.
  • Client and Supplier Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and successful project delivery.

The ideal applicant will possess the below qualifications and experience;

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, tendering processes, and cost management.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Excel and industry-specific tools.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable.
  • Membership with a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is advantageous.
